vPlanner provides standard Last Planner System Percent Planned Complete (PPC) metric tracking as well as additional unique metrics to balance near-term and long term planning.  To learn more about those metric, please refer to this IGLC paper.  We are also pleased to see our metrics included in the upcoming update to the Last Planner System 2.0 by LCI and introduced at the 2019 Congress by Glenn Ballard.

Definitions:

Commitment Level (CL): Commitment Level is an advanced LPS® metric that measures a team's ability to start of finish the required tasks for the duration of the work plan.  If CL is less than 100% then the team is unable to work on the required tasks and should consider re-planning.  The CL metric was recently recognized as a new LPS® in the P2SL 2020 Benchmark.  Your goal is to make sure CL = 100%

CL = Committed Required / SHOULD (at the time the workplan is created).

PRC or Ongoing (PRCO): This metric measure if the team completes the appropriate number of required tasks when finalizing the workplan.  If PRC is less than 100% then the team must consider re-planning to reduce the late paths.
  PRCO = Required DID / SHOULD (at the time the workplan is finalized)

Team PPC: is the standard Percent Planned Complete (PPC) which is the number of completed commitments divided by the total number of commitments.  True to how PPC is defined in the literature, this metric does not distinguish between required or backlog activities. In other words, all commitments are treated equal. PPC is a reliability metric.  Taken in isolation, it cannot not be used to conclude that the team is meeting their targets. The PPC metric ignores Ongoing tasks.

PPC = DID / (WILL - ONGOING)

Initial PPC (IPPC) This is a vPlanner metric that is identical to PPC at the time workplans are finalized.  However, in the period between closing a workplan and starting the next workplan, the status of tasks may change due to user changes.  PPC will reflect a realtime-PPC.  IPPC remains the same as PPC was at the time the workplan was finalized for comparison reasons.  You can think of IPPC as baseline PPC.

PPC or Ongoing (PPCO): This is a vPlanner metrics that includes OnGoing activities in the PPC.  You can consider this optimistic PPC, meaning that we project that all ongoning activities will be completed as promised on a future workplan.
  PPCO = (Completed + Ongoing) / Committed.
