Grouping Tasks

In vPlanner, the tasks or activities in the view can be grouped based on three different categories. To group a task with other tasks that fit into one of these categories follow the steps below:

  • Right click on the task or activity that you want to group with other tasks of a certain type.
  • Navigate to the "Groups" option in the dropdown dialog.
  • Moving the cursor over the "Groups" option expands it into three different sub-options.

    Group With Adjacent Tasks
    Group Task Constraints
    Group Task Successors
This option groups the selected activity with all it's adjacent or neighboring tasks/activities. One such group is provided as an example below.
This option groups the selected activity with all it's constraints or predecessor tasks/activities. One such group is provided as an example below.
This option groups the selected activity with all it's successor tasks/activities. One such group is provided as an example below.

Please Note: The Grouping option in vPlanner helps the user group the activities in the CURRENT VIEW ONLY. This option does not group all the eligible activities in the entire project i.e., the groups created may not contain all the eligible activities from the entire project, but will definitely contain all the eligible activities from the current view.
