New Features

  • You can now schedule online support from the help Menu (see Schedule Online Support).  The new menu item will open a browser window which you can use to setup up a gotomeeting based on our team's availability.
     
  • Import/Export Tabular XML.  This new feature available for Project Admin users, allows you to export tasks from vPlanner into an Tabular XML file that you can edit in Excel.  Change to the tasks can be imported back into vPlanner to update existing tasks.  You can also use this to import new tasks into vPlanner.
  • Updating:  you can updated all attribute filed and result will update in vPlanner if what you type is an already existing field in vPlanner.  You should not change TaskID or GUID.
  • Importing: Keep TaskID, GUID empty.  As a minimum you should fill in values for Description, Duration, Status, Owner name.  The owner name match an existing user's Firstname and Lastname.
     
     

    Improved Features

     
  • Graphics: display of task graphics in the network view has been improved.  You will notice that task handles are larger among other types of changes that will make task graphics read better on High-Dpi monitors.
     
  • Performance: 
  • You should notice significant performance improvements in rendering tasks in the network view especially on larger plans with thousands of tasks. 
  • Performance of the new Gantt report has been improved.
  • Performance of the new resource view has been improved.
  • Opening a project will complete faster on larger plans.
  • Performance of the layout engine has been significantly improved for larger plans (about 4x performance improvement).
 
  • Update Actual Dates: will now allow for updating completed tasks after workplans has been closed.  Prior, it only allowed updating actual dates for pending activities.
 
 

Fixes

  • Resetting a password from the Attributes menu now works as expected.
  • Splitting a Planning Marker with External ID used to create a duplicate External ID.  New behavior is to index the External ID and maintain it on the last task in the split.
  • Swimlane layouts will now apply by default if a team option is selected in the Open Plan dialog.  Prior to this change, normal layout was applied.
  • Fixed a bug in calculations when the daily planning board is open that resulted in a fake late path in some situations and Actual start is used.
 

Known Issues

  • Shortcuts for User fields in the attribute editor are limited to a total of 128 characters for all pre-set options combined.  Try to keep options descriptions short if you need more options.
